WIAW: Birthday Eats

Hello everyone! How we all doing? First of all thanks to everyone who left me a happy birthday comment on my last post, I haven’t got round to replying to them all yet but I will do soon! I just couldn’t resist joining in the WIAW party today as my eats have been especially yummy!

Peas and Crayons

This is the 29th WIAW and my 29th Birthday, what a great coincidence!

I started off my day with a mug of warm water and lemon, a cuddle from James and some birthday card opening. I had already been given some pressies at the weekend, cash, a beautiful necklace from my best friend, some gorgeous flowers and a gift voucher from my Sis. James surprised me with an extra little gift, one of my fave movies: The Craft! Can you remember that one? I was also chuffed to bits to receive this hand made card and shower gels from the gorgeous Cat!

That really made my day, how sweet! Of course my dehydrator was my main gift this year, I have some cookies in it as I type!

After that I headed out for a run. It was chucking it down with rain but I actually didn’t mind it that much. I had planned for this to be a recovery run after the weekends half but I ended up being pretty speedy: 10k in 52.50 average pace 8.32!

I came home and decided to give my abs and core a miss, I was so soaked I just wanted a hot shower! Breakfast was a ‘birthday cake’ green smoothie:

This beauty contained romaine lettuce, cucumber, frozen banana, scoop of cookies and cream spirutein, scoop of vanilla sun warrior protein powder, maca, barley grass, chia seeds, msm crystals, rice milk, vanilla extract, vanilla stevia, ice, xanthan and guar gums for thickness and topped with PB2 sauce, carob chips, candy covered sun flower seeds and sugar stars. Yum yum!

I followed that with a mug of cinnamon and hazelnut coffee with rice milk and stevia:

I popped to the shops to stock up on fruit and veggies and then went for my full body massage. It was heaven! I feel so loosened up now, the therapist did say that I was one of the most ‘knotty’ people she’s ever worked on! She advised me to drink a lot of water through the day to flush out the toxins that she will have released through the massage.

Lunch was absolutely wonderful! I made a blended salad of cos lettuce, courgette, cucumber, basil, hemp oil and seasonings along with probably the best sandwich I’ve had all year:

The sandwich was made with some of my very own raw onion and sunflower seed bread, sabra hummus, spinach, raw beet and raw carrot. The bread may not win any beauty contests but it was such a success, it stayed perfectly soft – so much more bread like than what I had been expecting it to turn out. I have to admit that most of the soup ended up down the sink, I was stuffed after the sandwich and I think I need to work on the flavourings of the soup!

A little while later I made this huge fruit plate:

This included mango, melon, blackberries, raspberries and jazz apple. I was stuffed after this but I just can’t get enough fresh fruit at the moment!

Late afternoon I fancied another treat so made up this fabulous banana split:

One banana (yes, it is under there somewhere!) with strawberries, PB&Co Dark Chocolate Dreams made into a sauce and a sprinkle of granola. This was oh so good! I may also have spent 10 minutes with a spoon and my nut butter basket too… oh well if you can’t indulge a little on your birthday when can you?

Dinner was a big bowl of spiralised courgette with some raw tomato and red pepper sauce with RAW Health kalamata olives with a sprinkling of nutritional yeast:

This was lovely and light, just what I needed after all those nut butters!

Dessert was an extra special treat that I had prepared during the day:

Raw Vegan Cookies and Cream Cheese Cake! I’ll be posting this recipe soon as it is awesome, probably one of the best things I’ve ever made :-)

Hope you enjoyed my WIAW party! I’m going to head off and relax for the rest of the evening, I’ll be checking out all your WIAW’s tomorrow. Have a good one!
