The positive vibes have worked!
Thanks for the comments to my last post, your positive vibes must have worked! - after all the problems with my laptop I came into work and found this baby on my desk!
Turns out that while I was working from home yesterday the boss authorised the purchase of netbooks for me and my team. As I do more working from home and we do more outreach with community groups, these are a really good investment. The best thing about it is that I can use this at home for some of my personal stuff as well so I don't have to stress about using the hubbys laptop while mine is out of action. Score!
I started the day with my usual Friday weigh in and was very suprised to find that I have lost a pound and I'm back to 10 stone. I was expecting a gain as this is usually my 'heavy' week. Well I'm not going to complain!
I then hit the gym for my cardio / weights session. I warmed up with 10 mins of 1 min intervals on the cross trainer followed by 10 mins of 1 min intervals on the step machine. I then got stuck into my new superset routine as described in my May Training Plan. I really enjoyed it, in fact after running, this is now my favorite workout. I lifted 30lbs for my deadlifts and used a 12lb bar on my shoulders for my lunges, it felt good to use the 'proper weights' although I'm sure these weights are rubbish compared to what some people lift but its a starting point for me.
I quickly headed home and got showered then went straight to work. As I'm really short on time with a morning gym workout I decided to make up a breakfast I could eat at my desk. I made some overnight oats with jumbo oats, chia seeds, water and natural yoghurt then added a scoop of chocolate whey and a tablespoon of peanut butter this morning. I also had some strawberries.
Very yummy. Would have been better hot though!
I really cracked on with my work this morning after losing so much time yesterday having to try and deal with the laptop problems. Lunch was more of my Pea, Brocolli and Mint soup and two oranges.
Mid afternoon I snacked on an apple and two babybel light.
When I got home my delivery of Bear Granola Nibbles had arrived and I just couldn't resist trying a pack right away to have with my cuppa. I had no idea that the packets would be so big! I had the Cocoa Cherry Pie variety, I can't believe how good these taste and how much you get for under 100 cals and 0.4g of saturated fat, I'm glad I bought so much as I'll be nibbling on these all the time!
For dinner I decided to roast up a load of veggies and make some Sesame Ginger Maple Tofu (the recipe is on my recipes page). I roasted a sweet potato, asparagus, courgette, red and orange peppers and a red onion and served some with the oven baked tofu.
For desert I made some raspberry chocolate sorbet with frozen raspberries, 3 tablespoons of cocoa powder and some vanilla rice milk to blend.
Drinks - water, green tea, decaf coffee, decaf tea
So the weekend is finally here! What do you have planned? I'm hoping for a bit of decent weather, I need some sun! I think I'm going to do my long distance run in the morning and then potter about the house a bit before heading into Newcastle for a look around the shops and a cuppa. The hubby has Sunday off so we are planning on going out for lunch which will be lovely, I can't remember the last time I went out for Sunday Lunch!
Well I'm going to head off and play some more with this new net book! Its really going to make my life easier while I wait for my laptop to be repaired. Hope you have all had a fab week and have a wonderful weekend ahead! x
