I'm a green monster virgin no more

After the day I had yesterday I woke up this morning with renewed resolve. I decided to go for a run. I haven't been for an outdoors run in quite a few months, when I used to run it was just every now and again and I was rubbish at it, I would do a very short run and I was extremely exhausted by the time I'd finish. This morning was brilliant! I decided to do a longer route than I'd ever done before and I although it gave me a good workout I felt like I could have easily gone on longer. I mapped the route I'd taken on realbuzz and it was just over 2 miles. I felt so chuffed, my fitness has obviously dramatically improved. I now plan to try and run at least once a week increasing my distance every couple of weeks and trying to improve my time.
After I'd done my run I came home to do the rest of my 'body blitz' work out. I did my circuit of weights and strengthing exercises twice and then finished with my Davina yoga stretch DVD.

By the time I'd finished that I was really ready for my breakie! I'd read on a few other peoples blogs about green monsters and thanks to Deisegirl who gave me the low down on them. I tried one this morning and it was lovely! I blended a small banana, a big handful of spinach, a tablespoon of ground flax with some hazelnut and almond rice milk -

For a mid morning snack I had two pears. After I had done all my cleaning I made a big pan of my favorite leek and potato soup which was delicious, followed by an apple

I had another apple as a snack this afternoon and then for dinner I made pan fried salmon with steamed carrots and brocolli with a small dollop of light mayo

I fancied something sweet after this so I had some frozen raspberries with hazelnut and almond rice milk, yum!

Drinks - water, decaf tea, green tea

Had a bit of a shock today - whilst making the salmon I looked at the label on the oil I was using, I had no idea there was 124 cal per tablespoon! I think I'll be buying some spray oil tomorrow!

Glad that I seem to be back on track today. I've got a nice free day tomorrow so I'm planning on doing some cooking, I love cooking days - bliss!
