Girly Night In

Oh my that Chocolate Mousse with Dark Cherry Compote was so amazing! After I posted yesterday I popped to my Mam and Dad's and caught up with my Sis, Brother in Law and Nephew while I was there, then I headed to my best friend Charlies. We've been friends since we were 13, she's just fab! She has a little girl, Hannah, shes two and a half and absolutely brilliant. Charlies hubby was away for the weekend so it was good to be able to have a proper girly night in. Unfortunately she hadn't been very well so hadn't been able to sort anything out for dinner. We decided that we would get a take away instead so I went for a Grilled Chicken Kebab. While we waited for it to arrive we bathed Hannah and I drank a can of lager (do not know why I bothered, I'm not even that fussed on lager!). I'm going to apologise now as my camera had a total meltdown and deleted all of my pics from last night and this morning :-(. The Chicken Kebab was delicious, it had been marinated in a spicy dressing. I had two white pitta bread with it, some salad, garlic sauce and a small plate of skinny fries. I also opened a bottle of red at this point (all for me as Charlie doesn't do red - dangerous!)

We then had our deserts. You must give the Chocolate Mousse with Dark Cherry Compote a go, it tasted amazing! It just worked, the chocolate and cherry flavours complemented each other really well. If I made it again I don't even think I'd worry about adding the cocktail cherries as I think it would have tasted just as good without them. After that I continued to knock back the wine and out came the chocolate. We had some galaxy dark chocolate which was yummy. I had to really stop myself from eating the whole bar, even though I was starting to feel really stuffed and quite bloated. I drank about two pints of water to try and help and then we lay in bed and watched TV till we fell asleep, total bliss!

Breakfast this morning was green tea with cottage cheese and some sugar free muesli. We got Hannah up and dressed and went out for a two hour walk around Charlies local park. The weather was beautiful, I took loads of pics, so gutted about the camera! While we were out I snacked on an apple and had a cup of tea.

I got myself home by about 1pm and got straight into Davina Body DVD Kick Fit section followed by my strength routine from my training plan. I then made myself a lovely Green Monster with a couple of big handfuls of spinach, frozen banana, pressed apple juice, hazelnut and almond rice milk, scoop of chocolate whey and a tablespoon of peanut butter. It was delicious!

A bit later in the afternoon I made a big pot of chilli bean soup and prepared other stuff for lunches ready for next week, I always try to be organised but it never works! After that I ate the left over greek yoghurt from making the chocolate mousse with some puffed brown rice and a few raisins.
For dinner I made a huge stir fry for me and the hubby with chicken, brocolli, red pepper, carrot, spinach, red onion, mushrooms, ginger and soy sauce.
I followed dinner with a bunch of red grapes.

Drinks - water, green tea, regular tea

After my indulgent Saturday eats I've tried to be good today, I'm also not feeling like I'm needing to snack which is great but I'm going to try and keep myself busy for the rest of the evening just in case. I can't believe its Sunday night already! The weekend goes far to fast. Hope everyone has had a good one!
