Busy, but not too busy for a Christmas food shop!
Its been a strange and busy couple of days and as a result my eats have been a little boring! On Monday I had a working lunch and ordered the Mozzarella and Roast Veg Panini – it was very good, although the white bread left me a little bloated. As that was pretty filling I just snacked on an orange before hitting the gym. I did 15 minutes of HIITs on the cross trainer and step machine, 10 minutes on the rowing machine and some abs exercises before going into my spin class. There was only 3 of us in the class! I guess people are getting into the holiday groove early this year.
After the class I was still surprisingly not that hungry but had a strange craving for greens! I just steamed up a load of shredded spring greens and topped with soy sauce, minced ginger and toasted sesame oil. I also had a Fruit-ein smoothie in a bowl. I didn’t bother to photograph as just so boring and I hate boring eats!
Yesterday was a bit better starting with my usual Davina DVD followed by this really tasty smoothie:
This contained raw spring greens with stem removed, frozen blueberries, about a 1/4 of a frozen banana, vanilla sun warrior, vanilla soy milk, maca powder, peanut butter and xanthan and guar gums. I topped with with a crumbled gingerbread cookie and some flaked almonds which tasted amazingly good.
I needed to use up some leftover quinoa from my muffins so for my lunch I added some chopped carrot, pepper, red onion and cucumber with a tahini dressing (tahini, lemon juice, garlic infused oil and water) plus lots of lettuce leaves.
I also had an orange and a kiwi. Stupidly I didn’t bring an afternoon snack so headed over to the green grocers and bought 3 apples to keep me going. I had a late night meeting so ate some of my Roast Tomato, Red Pepper and Chilli Soup at work for a quick dinner.
By the time I got home it was late so I just had a bowl of Bear Tropical Crunch Granola with vanilla soy milk.
Simple and comforting!
This morning I’ve been to the gym (30 minute treadmill run changing up speeds every 5 minutes, 15 minutes HIITs on step machine and abs) and I’ve had this yummy bowl of apple, raisin and cinnamon porridge with a gingerbread coffee:
Tonight we have a big event at work which celebrates community and voluntary organisations. I’m really looking forward to it (and the food!), I’m presenting the awards so it should be fun. I also have our work Christmas meal out tomorrow night. I’m certainly ready to start relaxing my eats a bit due to the festive season although I’m happy that I’ve made good food choices so far. On Monday evening me and the hubby went for our big Christmas grocery shop. I got salsa dip, garlic cheese, cream cheese, goats cheese, red wine, fruity cider, pomegranate juice and crackers. James also got Jack Daniels, cakes and crisps. Do you do a big Christmas grocery shop? Obviously I’ll be back for fresher stuff closer to the big day but I love getting all those bits and pieces.
My next post should be a big round up of all the Secret Santa exchanges that have taken place. I’m off to try and sort out my outfits for tonight and tomorrow, Hope your all having a great week!
