Pitta Pizza
I treated myself to a tasty home made high protein seeded wrap filled with almond butter and sliced apple along with a big cup of Starbucks Via coffee with soy milk for breakfast.
It was delicious, I really love using the two chicks liquid egg whites for making my wraps, the eggs they use are free range which is excellent, its such a useful ingredient. I also loved the Starbucks coffee. I thought I’d try it out after being accosted in the supermarket with someone giving out free samples - it tastes great for an instant coffee.
It was one of my work colleagues birthdays, which in my office means cream cakes. I’m not sure if its a good thing but they didn’t even bother asking me if I wanted one as they are so used to me now saying no! I had a couple of gorgeous juicy plums instead. I know it sounds crazy, but honestly I would rather eat some amazing fresh fruit instead of a Greggs cream cake loaded with fat, refined sugar and more additives than you can shake a stick at.
Lunch was a bowl of lentil and spinach soup and an orange.
I love lentil soup – so filling and comforting!
Mid afternoon I snacked on a cocoa loco nakd bar.
I’ve been eating so many of the new flavours I forgot I had some of these stashed in my goodie drawer at home.
I hit the gym after work and did 45 minutes of HIITs followed by some abs work on the stability ball and some upper body free weights.
Dinner was a wholemeal pitta pizza topped with tomato puree, mushrooms, red onion and sliced babybel light cheese plus a little cheddar cheese. I also had some kale chips with it.
These little pitta pizzas tasted great and I’ve missed kale chips, yum!
Desert was the usual double chocolate protein ice cream, topped with cacao nibs and granola.
For the first time I couldn’t finish all of this! I think it was just too much, although I did still have a fancy for a russet apple which I have just ate.
Today I got another veg box from the food co op. £5 got me all of this:
Broccoli, cauliflower, swede, cabbage, carrots, parsnips, potatoes, onions. Fantastic value!
My book finally arrived at the library for collection:
All I can say is holy yum! I’ve had a quick flick through and some of the recipes, particularly the puddings sound out of this world delicious. With Christmas coming I have the perfect excuse to do lots of indulgent baking too!
Are you a Nigella fan?
I’m so happy the weekend is here, plans include a trip to the gym, cleaning the flat, photographing stuff for ebay and hopefully chilling out a bit! I’m thinking of doing my usual weekend run on the treadmill at the gym, I’ve been experiencing a bit of a twinge in my left foot under the right ankle and I don’t want to push it. At least if it gets bad I can stop at the gym and do something else. I’m hoping its just down to my insoles being out of the right position but I don’t want to risk it. I also need to buy a warmer top for when I’m running outdoors. Last Sunday I was bloody freezing!
Hope you’ve all had a great week and have a brilliant weekend ahead! :-)
