WIAW: Cake for breakfast and perfectly poached
Hey everyone, can you believe its Wednesday already? This week seems to have flown over!
For WIAW this is what I ate and did yesterday, starting with lemon juice in warm water and followed by a glass of water with some apple cider vinegar in it. I’m making the ACV drink a regular thing! For breakfast I had a slice of raw millionaires shortbread and a green smoothie made with spinach, 2 kiwis, vanilla sun warrior protein powder, Viridian Omega skin oil, maca, matcha green tea, stevia, ice and water:
My smoothie was about 3 big glasses worth and so good, I love the tang that kiwi’s add to it. Oh and I just love being able to have a slice of ‘cake’ for breakfast – raw chocolate is the way to go :-)
I also had some black coffee with a little vanilla stevia:
Not blended with anything for a change, but still good!
The day promised a hint of sunshine and warm temperatures so I decided to wear a vest top for work, OOTD:
Pink patterned scarf: Mango, striped vest top (layered with white vest top): both H&M, khaki coloured high waisted button detail trousers: Topshop, gladiator sandals: Primark
Mid morning at work I snacked on a big pink lady apple:
Then for lunch I had a salad with romaine, cucumber, yellow pepper, beetroot, chickpeas and avocado:
Mid afternoon I snacked on my favourite Larabar, peanut butter chocolate chip!
I’d found this is my ‘snack drawer’ at home hiding at the back. Such a treat!
Then it was off to the gym for Body Pump. I did 20 minutes on the machines in the gym before the class started too. I was happy that the usual instructor was back from holiday and it was a great class as usual!
Dinner was so good! On Monday night I’d popped a few sweet potatoes into the oven to bake so I took one of them out of the fridge, chopped it up and fried it in coconut oil along with an onion and some kale to make a hash type thing. I topped it with a large poached organic egg and some shoyu sauce for a very satisfying dinner:
That was pretty much the most perfectly poached egg I’ve ever made!
For something sweet afterwards I had a raw chocolate avocado cup out of the freezer topped with some homemade cashew vanilla sunflower seed butter:
A little later I had my evening smoothie in a bowl, this was frozen blueberries, chocolate sun warrior protein powder, some kale that wouldn’t fit into the pan earlier, ice, water, stevia and a pinch of xanthan gum:
I topped it with some bee pollen for a sweet crunch. Still going strong with smoothie bowls pretty much every night, they hit the spot and are most definitely a summer staple for me!
Of course there was also copious amounts of water and green and herbal teas drank throughout the day too.
Today is my last day at work this week so I’m treating it like my Friday! Looking forward to a 4 day weekend :-)
How is your week going? Favourite snack bar? Do you like poached eggs?
