New Autumn Wish list
Hi blog friends, can’t believe another Monday has rolled around again!
This morning I decided to try out one of my new cereals from Dorset Cereals: The Tasty Low Fat Flakes with freeze dried cherries, raspberries, apple and cranberries. I had a bowl with some strawberries and blueberries and kara coconut milk.
These cereal flakes come with pieces of dried cherries and berries and really reminded me of Special K. A 30g bowl is only 109 calories and 0.6g of fat (without milk). After a quick web search I think this has a much ‘cleaner’ ingredients list than Special K. I did start by weighing out 30g but there was no way that was going to be enough for me so the amount you see in the bowl (mixed with the fruit as well) is about 45g. I can’t remember the last time I had some cereal and this made a lovely tasty change.
As I was busy in a meeting all morning I needed a mid morning snack that I could easily keep in my bag and eat quickly during a break. I went with a little bag of delicious orange flavoured nakd raisins.
Lunch was leftovers of my Roast Aubergine and Tabboleh salad along with a couple of chopped kiwis.
A good hour before leaving work for the gym I tried one of my new Beet It Shots.
Obviously it tasted of beetroot but not to the degree that I expected. It was very sweet too, but as its only a small amount it wasn’t sickly. I drank it un chilled and I think it would have tasted better had it been in the fridge. I headed to the gym after work and had a great workout – not sure if that’s down to the Beet Shot though! I did 50 minutes of HITTs including a 5 minute warm up on my usual cross trainer, step machine and bike. I even managed to increase my resistance levels on the step machine and did more of my ‘hard’ 30 second intervals on the bike. I finished with a couple of sets of abs exercises.
For dinner I put together a huge salad with little gem lettuce, carrot, red pepper, green pepper, spring onion, cucumber, beetroot and smoked almond and sesame tofu.
Still love this tofu in a big way, going to have to plan a trip to Waitrose to restock! For desert I made some vanilla matcha protein ‘ice cream’ having been inspired by Heathers Protein Ice Cream Recipe. I blended a scoop of vanilla whey with 1/4 teaspoon of matcha green tea powder, 1/2 teaspoon of xanthan gum some coconut milk and 3 big ice cubes. I ended up with a huge serving. I popped a few strawberries and blueberries in the bowl and it almost overflowed!
I have to say this is my new favourite thing, it tastes so indulgent and creamy with an almost marshmallow fluffiness and is really filling. It knocks my cravings and snackies right into touch.
Autumn Fashion Wish list
After sorting through my wardrobe yesterday I now have a better idea of new things I would like to buy when my Big Budget Challenge finishes at the end of the month:
1. A new coat
I would really like something with military detailing, these are my two current favourites:
Camel Military Inspired Coat £99 from Zara
Green Hooded Military Inspired Coat £50 from Next
2. New boots
I would really like a pair of heeled lace up ankle boots and some plain flat knee high boots. I don’t think I’ll be able to afford both – I might have to wait until the sales for the knee high boots.
Black heeled boots £50 ASOS
Black leather knee high boots £60 Next
3. Knitware
I really fancy a crochet style jumper like this one:
Grey Knitted Pointelle Jumper £35 Topshop
Plus some Fairisle printed accessories like this hat and hand warmers:
Beanie £14 and hand warmers £12 Warehouse
What’s on your wish list for Autumn? I’ll probably end up seeing loads more stuff as the season goes on but I think that a new coat and boots, along side all the stuff I bought in Brighton should see me more than well prepared for the coming season!
