Monster Shopping Spree
I got - a bag of organic jumbo oats, a bag of organic quinoa flakes, shredded coconut, pitted dates, hazelnut nut butter, smooth peanut butter, a bar of Green and Blacks 70% Dark Chocolate and from paper chase a gorgeous new bag to use to take my lunch to work in, carry my work papers etc. I love the pattern on it, its so cheerful! I'm going to use the oats and quinoa flakes to make up my own muesli, the dates and coconut to add to breakfasts, smoothies and perhaps some home made bars, the nut butters on pretty much everything and the dark chocolate to make some home made peanut butter cups!
Next up I needed some beauty supplies as I was running low on loads of stuff, and as always everything tends to run out at the same time. I hit boots (love to get my advantage card points!) -
I got - Pantene Smooth and Sleek Shampoo and Conditioner for everyday use, Boots Rose Water Skin Tonic (loving the retro packaging!), Olay Complete Care Daily Moisturiser with spfs, Soap and Glory, The Fab Pore face mask (I have terrible open pores on my t zone so hope that this might help, plus it was on special offer), Simple Daily Vitamin Cream (this was actually a freebie from Dorothy Perkins as it was a newly opened store), cotton buds, Dove Fresh Deodorant, Soap and Glory the Greatest Scrub of All (I have been on the look out for this after I read about it in a mag, it contains salicylic acid which is good for removing excess skin cells that cause skin to appear dull. I'm mostly going to be using it on my bumpy upper arms), Kent Natural Bristle Brush (I have quite fine hair that breaks really easily so thought I would give natural bristles a try), Maybelline Colossal Mascara and finally No 7 eyeshadows in Mink and Mushroom to replace my darker winter eyeshadows.
After I had got all this stuff I dropped my bags off at my hubbys shop (the benefits of having him work in the mall - no heavy bags to slow me down!) and proceeded to hit the clothes shops. I had looked at my existing wardrobe and made a list of the stuff that I needed, making sure that what I was after would go with other items in my wardrobe to get maximum use. Most of what I was after was to give my wardrobe a spring update (although judging on todays weather thats probably very premature!). So heres what I got -
Grey pumps with metalic detail and ankle straps (Dorothy Perkins), Floral Scarves (both New Look), Sunglasses and bags (Dorothy Perkins)
In all pics Black Straight Leg Trousers (Warehouse), Grey Boyfriend Cardy with Zip detail (New Look), Blue Breton Stripe Tee (Warehouse), Pink and Grey Stripe Tee (Dorothy Perkins)
Mink Long Sleeved Tee (Warehouse), Floral Scarf (New Look), Dusty Pink Lose Fit Tee (Warehouse), Floral Scarf (New Look)
Grey Basic Tee (New Look), White Basic Tee (Warehouse)
Just to show how well some of the stuff goes with my existing wardrobe heres the Dusty Pink Top and Black Straight Leg Trousers with my Beige Trench and tan leather bag and boots from my February wish list. I'm so chuffed that everything works so well together.
My aim when buying all this stuff was to be able to have some tops that are smart yet a bit funky that go with all sorts in my wardrobe (they will all go with jeans, black skirt, black bootcut trousers etc as well as being layered under tea dresses etc) so that I can just easily pick something out for work on a morning and which I can use to make up a nice outfit for the weekend. I feel like I've succeeded!
Heres a quick snap of my wardrobe, I try and keep it as tidy and organised as possible!
Well I'm well skint now! Going to order some protein powder then I'm done. Hope you've enjoyed looking at all the stuff I got!
Question - if your someone who has lost weight how did you approach your wardrobe after your weight loss? I dropped 3 dress sizes and over the year spent a fortune on replacing too big clothes, I gave a lot of stuff to charity. This is why I need to buy so much this time around as I have no spring summer clothes from last year as it was all too big for me! I would love to know how other people have got on around this xxx
