Lie Ins, Yogalates and Running!

Had another blissfully long lie in although we have now decided that we are going to have to start setting the alarm as we are getting that over slept fuzzy head thing in the morning, plus if we set the alarm to get us up a bit earlier it shouldn't be such a shock to the system on Monday morning! Made myself a mug of warm water and some muesli made with regular oats, organic jumbo oats, quinoa flakes, ground flax, raisins, flaked almonds and coconut slices with hazelnut and almond rice milk, it was yum!
After a trip to the local recycling centre to get shot of all of the cardboard boxes we have accumulated since Christmas I wanted to try out one of my new workout DVD's - Yogalates for Weight Loss.

I did the first half an hour workout. I enjoyed it as its a totally different exercise experience than I'm used to, I found the focus on breathing a little bit difficult but I guess that will get better with practice. I felt really relaxed and well stretched by the end of it! We had been planning on going for a walk after I'd done that but one of Hubbys mates decided to come through for a bit so I decided to try another run, probably not the best order to do them in but never mind, at least I was well stretched ready for it, although the relaxing effect of the yoga was negated by the run! I did my usual route of just over two miles, I had to focus to make sure that I didn't hit any ice patches or big puddles. Really, really enjoyed doing it, I'm getting a real buzz from it, can't wait to try doing a different more challenging route.

When I got back from my run I made some lunch - a big bowl of chilli bean soup followed by some apple (sliced with my new gadget of course!) and some green grapes.
After pottering about for a bit and having a small spending spree on amazon (Jillians 30 day Shred, In Defense of Food and Rachel Cosgroves The Female Body Break Through, all inspired by reading about them on various blogs!) I tested out my new food processor by making Fudge Babies (See Chocolate Covered Katies Blog for the recipe).

Oh. My. God.
These are amazing! I thought they would taste good but not this good! These are easily enough to deal with any chocolate cravings I might have (although luckily I don't get them very often now) as they just taste so chocolatey. With the dates and nuts I was expecting something more like coco loco nakd bars, not these which taste just like brownies to me. My little food processor worked like a dream too.

I snaffled two of these while making them and boxed up the rest and popped in the fridge although I seriously doubt these are going to last very long! For a second mid afternoon snack I had a cup of decaf tea and one of my home made peanut butter cups.

Spent the rest of the afternoon watching TV and movies with Hubby and his mate while making a list for my big grocery shop tomorrow including what things I would like to cook up over the weekend to stock the freezer up. I also had a play about on the computer and designed the new blog heading, hope you like it!

Dinner was leftover mince and onions from yesterdays dinner with a big pile of steamed brocolli, cauliflower and carrots followed by an apple with cashew nut butter.
Drinks, water, green tea, decaf tea

Can't wait to do my big grocery shop tomorrow, I usually like doing the food shop on my own but the Hubby will be coming with me tomorrow, he's always been really supportive on the healthy eating front but we'll probably end up with extra rubbish in the trolley!

Just like to say a quick hello to my new followers, hope that you are enjoying the blog! Hope everyone is having a good week xxx
